Help Support Law Enforcement Chaplaincy Sacramento
The Law Enforcement Chaplaincy Sacramento and Law Enforcement Community Services (LECS) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization which began in 1977. LECS is dependent upon the support of the community (i.e., individuals, businesses, churches and others) to maintain 24/7/365 operations. We provide crisis and trauma response to law enforcement, first responders, their families, and the community and these services are FREE.
All of our Chaplains are volunteers and the cost to train one Chaplain is more than $4,000 in the area of Trauma Response and Care. Law Enforcement Chaplains are ordained, licensed or commissioned clergy, available to serve sworn and non-sworn department personnel and their families. Our services are faith-based but not religious. We are "Constitutional Chaplains" not congregational clergy.
Community Chaplains are called out by first responders, or officers, to attend to family members, neighbors, by-standers, classmates, co-workers and the community following a traumatic event or the death of a loved one, and provide on-scene crisis intervention emergency services.
